Vision Boards: Your Year-Round Tool for Growth and Success
Make 2025 Your Growth Mindset Year
Anyone else remember making vision boards in the 90’s? You grab your stack of magazines, glue stick, scissors, a giant foam or cardboard box, and then get to creating your most perfect dream life? Anyone? Just me?
Well things are a little different these days, and most vision boards are digital. At least mine are! But whatever way you choose to create a vision board, all that matters is it keeps you motivated ALL YEAR LONG.
If your vision board starts to bore you a couple months after creating it then it might be time to update it. Because your vision board should grow as you do through the year. Vision boards are a powerful mindset tool of to help you manifest your goals and dreams.
So here’s why vision boards are so much more than just a one and done thing at the beginning of a new year, and how to use them all year!
Why Vision Boards Keep You Motivated All Year
- Constant Reminders: Seeing your goals daily keeps them top of mind.
- Emotional Connection: Images and affirmations inspire action.
- Flexibility: Your vision board grows as you adapt your resolutions.
Remember: Progress over perfection. Your vision board doesn’t need to be flawless; it’s a tool to guide and inspire your journey.
1. Goals Evolve Throughout the Year
Your January goals might look very different from your July goals. Life happens, and priorities shift. (If you have children this means things are ALWAYS changing…every day) A vision board isn’t set in stone; it’s a dynamic tool that can grow and evolve as you do. Whether you’re manifesting a new job, focusing on health + wellness, or saving for your dream vacation or car, your vision board can adapt to reflect your current goals.
2. Visuals Reinforce Motivation
Humans are visual creatures. By regularly seeing images of what you’re working toward, you’re reinforcing your subconscious belief that it’s achievable. (And yes, this is backed by science—look it up!) Keep your vision board in a spot you see daily, like your workspace or even your phone background.
It’s like that saying – ‘out of sight, out of mind.’ We want it – ‘in sight, and on our mind.’ Check out a few examples below:
3. It Sparks Creativity and Problem-Solving
Vision boards don’t just help you dream; they help you strategize. By putting your goals into images and words, you’re activating your brain’s creative problem-solving skills. Which means you’re more likely to notice opportunities and take action.
4. Seasonal Focus Keeps You Inspired
What you want in summer (hello, beach body) might not match your goals in fall or winter (pumpkins and career growth). Use seasonal prompts to update your board.
For example:
Spring: Fresh starts and decluttering.
Summer: Adventures and self-care.
Fall: Learning and productivity.
Winter: Reflection and goal-setting.
How to Keep Your Vision Board Fresh All Year
1. Set Quarterly Check-Ins
Use the changing seasons as a natural reminder to revisit and refresh your vision board. Ask yourself:
Have I achieved any of these goals?
Are there new priorities I want to add?
Does anything no longer resonate with me?
Pro Tip: Add a quarterly vision board refresh session to your calendar—maybe pair it with your favorite tea or playlist to make it a ritual. Burn some candles, meditate, and make it your time to dream big!
2. Mix Physical and Digital Boards
Not everyone has the wall space for a massive corkboard, or you maybe don’t want other’s to see what you’re up to yet. Enter: DIGITAL VISION BOARDS!
This can be an easier option for many that like less clutter and are good with technology.
It’s pretty easy these days with platforms like Canva and Pinterest. They make it easy to design a board that’s portable, editable, and just as impactful overall.
Plus, you can get some good inspiration from others! Check out a few of the 2025 boards for this year.
3. Focus on All Areas of Life
Balance is key. Don’t just focus on one area, like career or fitness. Include images and quotes for:
Relationships
Personal growth
Fun and hobbies
Travel
Finances
Below are a few examples:
4. Include Inspirational Quotes
Motivational quotes are like mini pep talks from your vision board. I remember way back when using Pinterest to find inspirational quotes solely based on how to get through a breakup.
Did it help. YES! Plus, it was a stepping stone to who I wanted to be as a person. Did I want to be someone who sat and sulked or someone who took some time to embrace the pain and hurt, and then get back up and keep going?
You get to decide who you want to be in this life. Even if we feel we are ‘forced’ to do things. We still get to decide how we react and how we carry ourselves.
So who do you want to be?
