5 Books To Read Before The End of 2024
I want to share with you 5 of my favorite self-development books that I have read in the past year that have helped me grow spiritually and mindfully.
Below are the 5 self-development books that I found enlightening, inspiring, and informative. This does not mean that you will feel the same way. We all have different opinions and different ways of learning. So please take these recommendations as they are.
If you read one of the books and feel it’s just not you, don’t worry! I have done this numerous times with books. I read the summary and reviews, start reading, and sometimes don’t finish them for various reasons. I’ve learned that if I want to do something, I’ll find a way to get it done. 😉
It’s all about mindset.
Change your mindset, Change your Life
Books are my favorite that’s why I also partnered with BookShop.org to support my local bookstores. You can support your local bookstores too when you purchase a book through BookShop.org. They pull the closest bookstores in your zip code and the FULL profit goes to that local bookstore.
Also disclosure: Some links (not all) within this post are affiliate links and I may earn a small commission at no cost to you. I only recommend things that I have personally tried:) I’ve linked all the books below if you want to take a look. I am a big believer of keeping books and bookstores alive, but I married a Jewish man who doesn’t like to pay full price for things. lol So I have provided two options if you wanted to grab your own copy at full price or amazon discounted.
I also make sure that I support local bookstores the best I can by purchasing some of my books through them when I can. It’s balance…just like everything in life. 🙂
What this book taught me:
This book taught me how to be aware of my physical body and mental state at any given moment. The goal of this book and why Tolle wrote it is to inspire others on their spiritual journey of finding who they are at the deepest level. Ultimately, in the simplest terms possible he is guiding you towards what is true ‘enlightenment.’
Now if you’re weirded out by the word enlightenment, or think it sounds too cheesy or ‘culty’ you’re not alone! Many people feel there are stereotypes attached to this word. However, if you look at it from a different perspective (and don’t get caught up in the stereotypes of it) what would be the problem with finding true peace within your body and mind?

by Eckhart Tolle
What this book taught me:
This book taught me a lot about the mind from a very scientific point of view. So if you’re a science person this book is absolutely for you. If you’re on the other end of the science thing, then I would say give it a try at least. If you’re not that into it then you know you at least tried. There are lots of graphs, data, and information within the book that Dr. Dispenza utilizes to help you understand what he’s talking about.
The overall goal of this book is to help you explore your mind, and help you understand that anything is truly possible if your mind is in the right place first. It’s much more than just thinking, it’s the idea of not thinking. He teaches you how to tune into other frequencies, change your brain chemistry, balance your energy centers, and much more.
Becoming Supernatural: How Common People Are Doing the Uncommon
by Dr. Joe Dispenza
What this book taught me:
Exactly as the title describes…being mindful. Beginning Mindfulness helped walk me through how to be mindful in my everyday life. Not going to lie to you… it’s HARD! Staying mindful and being in the present moment is so hard sometimes for me, and I think a lot of others. I think that’s why he stretches the course/book across 10 weeks because it takes daily work to stay mindful.
I know committing to something that is 10 weeks seems stressful or like a lot of work, but it can be pretty easy when given the right tools. It’s about mindset and putting in the small effort every single day to see a bigger change in the future.
Beginning Mindfulness: Learning the Way of Awareness: A Ten Week Course
by Andrew Weiss
What this book taught me:
Emotions are neither good nor bad. We need all emotions in order to operate as a true emotional intelligent human being. This book is entry level into being mindful and learning to work with emotions. The title is about positivity, but it doesn’t just talk about being positive all the time. Susan helps to break down different emotions, and how to work with all of these emotions in our daily lives. She created certain journal prompts or questions to ask yourself. Plus, it’s just a quick 3 minutes a day!
3-Minute Positivity Workbook: Transform Your Life by Changing Your Thoughts
by Susan Reynolds
What this book taught me:
This book is more of a daily motivational book to look at or read a page a day. Through poetry and short prose, he offers guidance and strategy for the unknown of life. He writes to help you look inward and find who you are, and what your soul needs in this ever-changing society and its constructs.

To Recap:
Hoping one of these books can make a positive impact in your life, and if you’ve looked at the whole list and decided none of them sound appealing – then that’s just the way it goes!
