15 Motivational Quotes From USA Olympic Athletes

The Summer Olympics have always been my favorite, more so than the Winter Olympics. The main reason behind this is because of the sports that are played. The summer Olympic sports are much more attainable, or close to home, than the winter Olympics. Yes I ski, but I also grew up playing basketball, volleyball, and as an adult play a lot of beach volleyball.

I know as a former collegiate athlete (and adult athlete) that mindset is extremely important when training and playing sports. I wish when I was competing I was able to work with a sports psychologist to develop my athletic mindset. I knew the athlete mentality was a different type of mentality, but I also didn’t realize how important it was to my daily life as well.

I also really enjoy the Summer Olympics because I know several Olympians personally, and have met several others over the years. The one thing they all have in common…their mindset. Plus, they are all regular people who have incredible stories about the journey to be at the top of their sport. We should use their mentality and mindset as motivation and inspiration for our own journey. (Even if it isn’t for athletics)

It’s true when they say you can do anything you set your mind to.

Side note: If you’re an athlete (of any age) I highly recommend working with a sports psychologist if you can. Or working with a psychologist in general. We are capable of so many things, but our mind is usually what gets in our way. You can connect with a professional through Calmerry. (They even offer text, video, and online sessions)
